Job summary

Stantec in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to lead civil engineering tasks on Community Development projects across the western US. You will perform design analysis, prepare exhibits, and mentor junior staff under a Project Manager, coordinating with geomatics and external teams.

The role involves lead responsibility for technical design, construction documents, and project coordination across multiple disciplines, with a focus on quality assurance and scope management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Professional Engineer required.
• Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design for civil projects including grading, drainage, utilities and street improvements.
• Perform hydrology/hydraulic modeling and prepare construction documents.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with geomatics for base data.
• Develop concept designs and alternatives for project objectives.
• Create 3D models and provide direction to team engineers.
• Lead coordination meetings with clients, consultants, owners and contractors.
• Prepare construction quantity estimates and cost analyses.
• Help manage project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Lead preparation of project specifications and construction documents.
• Contribute to constructability reviews and QA/QC processes.
• Drive project documentation through approval and permit processes.
• Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects.
