Job summary

Goldberg, Miller & Rubin seeks an experienced civil litigation attorney to join its New Jersey team in personal injury practice. Hybrid/remote work is possible based on experience, with responsibilities from day one including ownership of cases and full handling from inception to resolution.

The candidate will handle pleadings, depositions, and court appearances, and must have five+ years in insurance defense or civil litigation, with strong research, writing, and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a large caseload and work independently.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to collaborate with senior attorneys, staff, clients, and opposing counsel.
• Experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and related complex assignments.
• Membership in good standing with the New Jersey bar (PA/NY bars a plus).

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other documents.
• Record and disseminate information for clients.
• Summarize medical records and highlight important information.
• Write client reports on case status and analysis.
• Identify, research, and analyze legal issues and opinions.
• Take and defend depositions, participate in arbitrations, and argue motions.
• Attend in-person and virtual court appearances.
• Provide representation to protect client interests in complex litigation.
• Explain litigation process to clients and stakeholders.
• Manage cases toward cost-effective, efficient resolutions and meet deadlines.
