Job summary

Staples Construction seeks an experienced Civil Estimator who may occasionally project manage small projects. This role handles earthwork and demolition estimates for private and public works, guiding the project from bid to build and ensuring profitability.

The ideal candidate will have BS in Civil Engineering or related field, 3+ years in heavy civil environments, and significant experience with paving, dirt, and grading. Southern California base with 25% travel.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
• Minimum of three years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• Minimum of five years experience in paving, dirt, and grading in private or public environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate project revenue and cost forecasting to meet profitability goals.
• Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budget and bid schedules.
• Lead estimating efforts on civil projects for bid-to-build processes and review bid schedules.
• Manage resources with project team to meet schedule and feasibility; participate in bid reviews.
