Job summary

Confident Search Consultants in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Civil Estimator to lead the Civil Precon Department and own detailed cost estimates for paving projects. You will guide bid development, analyze plans, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with management to win work.

The role requires 5+ years in civil estimating, proficiency with Excel/Bluebeam/HeavyBid and strong communication and negotiation skills. Competitive compensation with bonus and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil industry.
• Proven track record of estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, paving, grading, etc).
• Proficient in necessary software including Excel, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win, AGTEK (preferred).
• Excellent communication, client/business development and negotiation abilities.
• Sense of Urgency on submitting complete bids (on time).

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.
