Job summary

Clark Construction Group is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Estimator to own complex preconstruction lifecycles, lead cost modeling, hard bids and design-build proposals for major regional and national projects. This role collaborates with trade partners from our McLean, VA office.

You will guide takeoffs for Earthwork, Cast-in-place concrete, and other trades, mentor engineers and junior estimators, and apply Heavy Bid, Building Connected and Bluebeam to deliver precise, value-engineered

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 7 to 10+ years of dedicated estimating experience.
• Experience with hard bid, design-build, progressive design-build, and construction manager at-risk estimates.
• Experience with large-scale projects ($50M+) across diverse Civil sectors such as heavy rail, light rail, airports, and their facilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trade partners, labor dynamics, and building regulations in DC/MD/VA and LA/SF metro areas.
• Takeoffs and crew/self-perform estimates for Earthwork, Cast-in-place concrete, Miscellaneous Metals, and one-off trades.
• Proficiency with Heavy Bid, Building Connected, and Bluebeam; AGTEK Earthwork a plus.
• Ability to pass standard federal background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Direct conceptual, schematic, design-development, and GMP estimates for large-scale commercial/civil developments.
• Build comprehensive scopes of work, lead trade leveling sessions, and ensure total bid coverage.
• Identify cost-effective design alternatives aligned with the designers intent.
• Monitor regional commodity fluctuations, labor availability, and urban logistical challenges.
• Partner with Clark Civil PMs and Superintendents to transition bids into operations.
• Provide guidance, software training, and development support to engineers and junior estimators.
