Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a heavy highway/civil construction estimator to be based out of our Lorton headquarters. The role involves analyzing plans, creating bid packages, and bidding across civil, utility, bridge, and structures projects ranging from $1 million to over $500 million.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, an undergrad degree in engineering or construction management, and proficiency with Bid/Estimator software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in heavy/highway construction estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract terms.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans, specifications, and contract terms to determine scope and risk.
• Define scopes of work for trades, create bid packages, solicit bids.
• Visit sites to assess conditions and access restraints.
