Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team of professionals dedicated to heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate would be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven.

Responsibilities include establishing relationships with customers and subcontractors, understanding scope, taking off, and preparing bids for heavy civil projects, and ensuring timely estimates. AAS/BS degrees in related fields and 3+ years estimating experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in construction estimating.
• Able to read civil plans and develop cost estimates.
• Strong understanding of construction processes.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Impeccable problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain working relationships with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
• Understand scope of work, take-off and quantify, and prepare estimates to bid heavy civil projects.
• Contact and manage bid pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure timely completion of estimates.
