Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager (PE), Transportation, McAllen, TX or Corpus Christi, TX

Halff has an opening for a Senior Roadway Engineer with a Texas PE License to serve as a Senior Project Manager in our Roadway/Transportation team based in either McAllen or Corpus Christi, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in roadway/transportation project development with an emphasis on TxDOT projects, strong design and project‑management skills, and a commitment to quality.

What you will do

• Oversee the design and construction of infrastructure projects for the Transportation practice.
• Lead design and project‐management activities for TxDOT roadway/transportation projects.
• Collaborate closely with the Transportation Team Leader on project development and delivery.
• Perform complex transportation engineering tasks and supervise other professional staff.
• Develop and manage project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules, and client/stakeholder relationships.
• Manage multiple projects or tasks to support business needs.
• Supervise design teams, including Engineers, EITs, and technical staff, ensuring growth and safety of Texas roadways.
• Review deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
• Build a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
• Report on project progress and budgets to leadership.
• Participate in business‑development activities with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Managers.
• Lead design and plan production and guide clients and technical staff through workshare opportunities with other practices at Halff.
• Actively engage in professional organizations benefiting the transportation industry.

What you will need

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or an ABET‑accredited equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas.
• At least 15 years of experience delivering TxDOT roadway/transportation projects.
• Experience with MicroStation CADD and OpenRoads.
• Ability to lead projects, technical staff, and manage schedules and budgets.
• Experience managing roadway design projects and plan production.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong decision‑making ability.
• Commitment to quality and a positive, self‑directed, team‑player attitude.
• Desirable: prior TxDOT employee or consultant experience.
• Desirable: Primavera P6 experience.
