Job summary

Arup is seeking a senior civil engineer to lead multidisciplinary design projects in the Los Angeles area. You will oversee commercial, contractual and technical aspects while mentoring a team of engineers and building strong client relationships.

Requirements include a PE license, a Bachelor's in civil engineering (Master's preferred) and 12+ years of experience. Knowledge of LADBS/LABOE processes and sustainable design practices is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; Master's preferred.
• 12+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Deep knowledge of stormwater, LID, utility design, grading and earthwork, roadway geometry, pavement design, accessibility.
• LA area project delivery experience and LADBS/LABOE knowledge desirable.
• Experience interfacing with owners, contractors, and consultants; sustainable design emphasis.
• Strong client relationship building and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex multidisciplinary design projects including commercial, contractual and technical oversight.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients and collaborators.
• Assist preparation of proposals, bid submissions and marketing activities.
• Provide team support, guidance and professional development through technical leadership.
• Serve as senior technical reviewer and QA/QC leader for civil design projects.
• Provide leadership and mentorship for a civil engineering team; foster innovation and trust.
