Job summary

STV is seeking a versatile civil engineer to join our Charlotte, NC team. This role supports water resources, conveyance, transportation and general civil/site design for municipal and private sector infrastructure, with growth into additional markets.

Responsibilities include preparing facility plans, stormwater systems, grading and utilities; coordinating with agencies; and preparing plans, specs, and cost estimates. Requires a PE license and 8+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years civil/water/wastewater or utility experience.
• Experience with infrastructure construction plans and specs.
• Field assessments for preliminary studies.
• Water/wastewater pipeline design and utility coordination.
• NCDOT or municipal infra experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary layouts for facility plans, stormwater systems, underground utilities, grading and drainage.
• Prepare design and construction plans and specifications for infrastructure projects.
• Design and coordinate water, wastewater, power, gas and fiber optic utilities for large projects.
• Perform engineering inspections during construction.
• Prepare utility plans, profiles, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Lead stakeholder reporting and interagency communication via meetings and reports.
• Assist with permitting, easements, ROW, and construction-phase coordination.
• Maintain project records throughout project duration.
