Job summary

STV is seeking a versatile civil engineer to join our Charlotte, NC team, supporting water resources, conveyance, transportation, and general civil/site design for municipal and private sector infrastructure. Growth into additional markets is anticipated.

The role requires PE licensure, 8+ years in civil/utility engineering, and experience with construction plans and water/wastewater design. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 8 years of civil, water/wastewater, or utility engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with construction plans and specs for infrastructure projects.
• Experience with field assessments and investigations for preliminary engineering studies.
• Experience with water and wastewater pipeline design and utility relocation/coordination.
• NCDOT or municipal infrastructure experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary layouts for facility plans, stormwater systems, and utilities.
• Prepare design and construction plans and specs for infrastructure projects.
• Design and coordinate utilities for water, wastewater, power, gas, and fiber projects.
• Perform inspections during construction of large water and roadway projects.
• Prepare utility plans, profiles, specs, and cost estimates; review drawings and change requests.
• Lead stakeholder reporting and interagency communication with DOTs, municipalities, and clients.
• Assist with permitting, easements, ROW, and construction-phase coordination.
• Maintain project records throughout projects.
