Job summary

The City of Gilroy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for the Utilities Department to design, implement, and optimize water and wastewater systems. This on-site, full-time role involves establishing engineering standards, supervising staff, and guiding complex projects to completion.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, manage consultants, and support budgeting. A 9/80 schedule is available, offering Fridays off every other week while advancing critical infrastructure for Gilroy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field required.
• Five years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including at least two years in supervision.
• Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California.
• Valid California Driver License.
• Prefer bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and construction of utility systems (water and wastewater).
