Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support national security missions in Reston, VA. The role focuses on reverse engineering, characterization, and analysis of complex facilities in denied-access environments, including underground structures and MEP systems.

You will lead technical assessments, develop 3D models, and produce reports for senior government and DoD stakeholders, while mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI polygraph clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 10+ years.
• Experience in facility analysis, infrastructure vulnerability assessments, and structural engineering within DoD/IC environments.
• Industrial & facility focus: experience analyzing chemical, nuclear, or biological processes and their footprints (above-ground and subterranean).
• MEP systems knowledge: understanding design, integration and operation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in complex facilities.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering and characterize complex industrial processes, equipment configurations and facility designs.
• Evaluate subterranean and hardened facilities for structural design and survivability.
• Create 3D CAD models of facilities, underground structures, floor plans and utility networks.
• Conduct vulnerability and resilience assessments to identify weaknesses and single points of failure.
• Analyze supporting infrastructure and workflows, including HVAC, power distribution, and utility networks.
• Prepare engineering reports and brief senior stakeholders in accordance with Intelligence Community standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a multidisciplinary team.
