Job summary

JUWI Inc. in Boulder, Colorado is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design activities across development, design, and construction stages.

You will mentor staff, review consultants’ work, and ensure compliance with JUWI standards while coordinating with Engineering and Construction teams. The role requires 6–10 years of civil design experience (solar preferred), AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and 3D modeling skills, plus a PE license (preferred).

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• 6-10 years of civil design experience; solar-specific experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD; 3D modeling skills.
• PE license preferred or in process.
• Knowledge of national civil design codes and requirements (ASTM, ACI, MUTCD).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15–20% and work flexible hours.
• Demonstrated efficiency in managing multi-disciplinary tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design activities and mentor staff.
• Review consultants' work and ensure compliance with JUWI standards and jurisdictional requirements.
• Manage external land surveying and civil consultants for surveys and site plans.
• Coordinate with geotechnical consultants for earthwork and foundation design.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for subcontractors and bid selections.
• Support construction teams and oversee on-site civil subcontractor performance.
• Travel to projects as needed to support development and construction.
