Job description

Responsibilities: As a senior civil engineer:

• Perform the planning and design of roadway projects
• Lead the preparation of studies, plans, specifications, and estimates for a variety of projects
• Manage a team of engineers and planners working on the design of civil/traffic/transportation project for Illinois transportation agencies
• Coordinate subconsultants
• Ensure compliance with company’s QA/QC plan
• Visit project sites to investigate conditions
• Communicate and coordinate with clients’ representatives
• Assist with preparing technical and cost proposals
• Assist with business development in the civil/traffic/transportation engineering space

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• 10 years or more of progressive experience and responsibility in one or more of the following technical areas: roadway design and geometrics, traffic engineering, roadway safety analysis and engineering, ITS, and hydraulic analysis and design
• Knowledgeable about design standards, policies and procedures Illinois transportation agencies such as IDOT and the Illinois Tollway
• Knowledge of Microstation/Geopak Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Experience managing a team of professionals in different disciplines
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers
• Strong presentation and written communication skills
