Harriman's growing multi-disciplinary practice is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join our team! We offer a hybrid work schedule out of our offices in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Portland, ME, or Auburn, ME. This role offers a path to leadership within our Civil Studio for the right candidate. Our Civil team adopts a holistic, ground-up approach to design, working closely with internal practice groups and directly with clients on diverse project types.

With a strong reputation for high-quality architecture and engineering services throughout New England, we serve both public and private clients on projects including municipal facilities, educational institutions, commercial, industrial, and recreational facilities. We foster a family-friendly, collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate with a team of design professionals on various development projects.
2. Design and manage civil engineering and land development projects, including grading, storm drainage, utility design, environmental design, facility planning, site layout, roadway design, and permitting.
3. Perform engineering calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater modeling, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater permitting.
4. Research and pursue civil engineering opportunities with agencies and municipalities.
5. Prepare technical reports and assessments, including LEED certification applications.
6. Assist in developing project proposals and budgets.
7. Produce engineering documents and civil specifications, including permitting documents.
8. Conduct quality assurance peer reviews within civil engineering and coordinate with other trades.
9. Support projects during construction administration.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
2. 7-10 years of related experience.
3. Professional Engineering license required; ability to obtain registration in other states.
4. Experience managing multiple projects independently.
5. Knowledge of Maine and national codes and standards.
6. Active involvement in professional organizations.
7. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
8. Strong project management and documentation skills; AutoCAD experience required; Revit a plus.
