Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join the Power Generation Division Engineering & Operations Support Services. This role serves as the Owner's Engineer responsible for evaluating asset condition and developing practical engineering solutions across diverse power generation facilities.

The candidate will support projects from concept through construction, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Civil/Structural/Geotechnical).
• Minimum 4 years engineering experience in relevant civil fields; experience with power facilities preferred.
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with engineering analysis, technical reports, specs, calculations, and construction documents.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Maximo or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for civil and structural systems across a fleet of operating power plants.
• Perform engineering evaluations, structural assessments, field investigations, and condition inspections of existing plant infrastructure.
• Develop engineering solutions for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement and asset management.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, scopes of work, and cost estimates.

Education

ABET-accredited Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering program

Strong written & verbal communication

Travel to facilities as required
