Job summary

Radiant is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to design and develop concrete structures supporting manufacturing and deployment sites in El Segundo, CA. You will conduct trade studies, analyses, and testing to ensure safety and performance in extreme thermal and seismic environments.

You will lead development of foundations, precast elements, and storage systems, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and external fabricators to deliver reliable infrastructure for on-site nuclear microreactor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years designing concrete or reinforced concrete structures.
• 4+ years of structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element tools (Abaqus, Ansys, SAP2000 or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own critical concrete structures including foundations and precast elements for manufacturing and site operations.
• Perform designs to meet static, thermal, and seismic loading requirements.
• Conduct detailed structural analyses (reinforced concrete, static strength, durability) and seismic qualification.
• Develop and execute construction, fabrication, and test plans for concrete elements.
• Create and manage a Bill-of-Materials (BOM).
• Identify and engage suppliers and fabricators for precast components.
• Manage subassembly design, fabrication, and test schedules.
• Perform risk analysis (FMEA) for concrete subsystems.
