Job summary

City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works seeks a Sr. Civil Engineer – Major Roadway Infrastructure to lead complex roadway projects from design to construction. You will supervise engineering teams and coordinate with consultants, inspectors and contractors to deliver on schedule and within budget.

This role requires a Texas Professional Engineer license, a relevant civil engineering background, and strong project management skills. Hybrid work arrangements may apply after probation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Three years of professional civil engineering experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer, two years related to civil engineering.
• Texas Licensed Professional Engineer; if licensed elsewhere, must obtain Texas licensure within six months.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple infrastructure projects with engineers, consultants and inspectors.
• Support Engineering Manager and help implement policies and procedures.
• Communicate project progress with City leadership and external agencies.
• Manage professional services and construction contracts; review drawings and specs.
• Process amendments, change orders and payment requests.
• Mentor graduate and professional engineers.
