Job summary

SLR Consulting (US) in Agawam, MA seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead site development and civil infrastructure projects across New England. You will mentor staff and coordinate with environmental scientists and regulatory specialists.

The role focuses on design leadership, project delivery, budgeting, permitting support, and construction phase services with opportunities to grow our business in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut reciprocity or ability to obtain.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
• Strong experience with land development, site design, stormwater management, and civil infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering design software.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut environmental and land-use regulations.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting and client management.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and project delivery for residential, energy, industrial, commercial, and municipal projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scope, schedule, budget, quality control, and client communication.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, technical specifications, reports, calculations, and permit applications.
• Oversee site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design.
• Coordinate with environmental permitting teams to support federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
• Manage subcontractors, contractors, and external consultants as needed.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations to support project planning and implementation.
• Participate in proposal development, business development initiatives, and client relationship management.
• Support construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and project closeout
• Build an office culture that supports staff opportunities to excel and grow our business
