Job summary

Bobbitt Construction, Inc. is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead site and civil design, permitting, and project coordination for commercial projects in North Carolina.

You will own the civil scope from concept through construction, collaborating with project teams, owners, and consultants. Top candidates will mentor staff and help standardize permitting processes across Bobbitt projects.

Qualifications

• Active NC PE license or eligibility via comity.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree.
• 5–10 years of commercial site/civil design experience.
• Knowledge of NC stormwater requirements and Triangle UDO.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam.
• Demonstrated project management experience including coordination, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control plans.
• Review civil drawings for constructability and cost impact.
• Coordinate permits with NCDEQ, NCDOT, utilities, and municipalities.
• Manage civil consultants, surveyors, and design partners.
• Prepare and review RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and correspondence in Procore.
• Mentor staff on permitting strategy and design standards.
