Job summary

Bexar County seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to supervise professional and technical staff in the development, design, construction and maintenance of public works projects and to review engineering designs related to private land development.

Under direction, you will coordinate project designs with contractors, utilities, landowners and agencies, prepare technical reports, oversee budgets, and ensure compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; 6 years civil eng exp incl. 2 years in lead/supervisory role.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
• Valid Class C Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports and review engineering studies, construction plans, and specifications.
• Review land development design plans, studies, reports, and permits for code compliance and design standards.
• Review capital project design plans, project specifications, and cost estimates; attend review meetings and solve design problems.
• Coordinate development of project designs with contractors, utilities, landowners, developers, governmental agencies and the public.
