Job summary

El Dorado Irrigation District (CA) is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex engineering projects, oversee staff, and coordinate with regulatory agencies and the public.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, five years of professional engineering experience (three at Associate Civil Engineer level), and a California P.E. license. A valid CA driver’s license is required. A $9,000 hiring incentive is available in three installments.

Qualifications

• Five years of responsible professional engineering experience including three years similar to Associate Civil Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or a related field.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license at the time of appointment.
• Possession of a current certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prioritizes, and reviews the work of staff assigned to professional engineering tasks for planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of District facilities.
• Acts as project manager for complex capital improvement projects including budgets, outside design firms, and construction phase management.
• Prepares and presents project recommendations and updates to the Board of Directors; coordinates with regulatory agencies and the public.
