Job summary

City of Placerville is seeking a Supervising Civil Engineer to plan, coordinate, and manage Capital Improvement Projects and development projects under the City Engineer. The role involves leading a team of professionals, reviewing plans, budgets, and interagency coordination for transportation, utilities, and city facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, strong leadership, and a solid background in project management and regulatory

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time, increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience, including supervisory experience.
• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, design, construction, and/or right-of-way work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, direct, and supervise design and construction of roads, utilities, facilities, and public works projects.
• Develop plans, specifications, estimates, and work orders for design and construction of public works projects.
• Review and approve construction plans and provide engineering leadership on CIP and development projects.
• Assist in budget preparation and administration and monitor expenditures and invoicing.
• Coordinate with other agencies, city departments, and outside entities on engineering matters.
• Review and participate in environmental assessments and mitigate impacts of projects.
• Represent department and City in meetings with property owners, contractors, developers, and officials.
