Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/PM to lead site design efforts on land development projects in Woodbridge, VA or Fairfax, VA. The role emphasizes proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and requires strong technical design leadership across project phases.

The ideal candidate has 3-10+ years in land development, EIT/PE preferred, and prior experience on DMV-area projects. A hybrid workspace is offered with competitive benefits and bonuses based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-10+ years of experience in land development design projects (stormwater management, site grading, erosion & sediment control, etc.).
• EIT Certification and/or PE License is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience working on local projects in Northern VA (DMV) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the development of site designs on various land development projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software platforms.
• Lead the development of design and technical documents through all phases of projects.
• Develop design efficiencies using Civil 3D software.
• Oversee and lead the design efforts for water and sanitary sewer design and subdivision plans.
• Develop construction drawings and work with internal production staff to meet deadlines for site development projects including site layout, grading, geometry, utilities, and storm drainage for commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and transportation projects.
• Develop planning studies, preliminary and final design plan production, and project permitting.
• Develop erosion and sediment control plans and design E&S control measures in accordance with state criteria.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control on own work.
• Assist in the training and development of junior staff members.
