Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for our Melbourne, FL team. You will lead design efforts, supervise junior engineers and CAD staff, and coordinate with project managers on design-bid-build and design-build projects across local, state, and federal programs.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and a Florida P.E. license or eligibility. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and collaboration across multiple offices is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Seven to ten years of experience.
• Florida P.E. license preferred, must be able to obtain FL licensure through FBPR/NCEES.
• Experience with roadways, sanitary sewers, water distribution systems, storm drain facilities, site grading, stormwater management, earthwork, erosion & sediment control, environmental compliance, ADA compliance, and/or pavement markings & signage.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D knowledge and understanding required.
• ProjectWise, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and MS Project knowledge and understanding a plus.
• Ability to lead and prepare civil engineering projects consisting of construction plans, specifications, and/or design calculations.
• Proven ability to conduct periodic site visits and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, etc.
• Ability and willingness to work on private, municipal, state and federal projects.
• Proven technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs project design and provides direction to junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Plans and reviews production of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Plans and reviews production of investigations or planning work.
• Develops and evaluates plans for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting cost-effective solutions.
• Analyzes technical problems and devises new approaches.
• Prepares cost and manpower estimates, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinates work with project manager and guides junior staff on design and drafting.
• Maintains quality control and reviews computations and drawings.
• May occasionally manage projects.
• Performs other duties as needed.
