Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. in Maryland is assisting a well-established engineering consulting firm in finding an experienced Civil Engineer to join its land development team. The role offers collaborative work on diverse site development projects across the region.

You will prepare construction documents, design roadways/utilities/drainage, assist with zoning and permits, and ensure compliance with local standards. A strong CAD background and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in civil/site land development engineering.
• Experience working on projects in Maryland, including Prince George’s County and/or Montgomery County.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site civil engineering construction documents under the supervision of the Project Manager.
• Develop roadway, utility, and site design plans.
• Assist with zoning, preliminary, and conceptual land development plans.
• Perform grading and drainage design to support cost-effective and safe site development.
• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, including calculations and BMP design.
• Support construction cost estimating through quantity calculations.
• Research and apply applicable local, state, and federal design standards and codes.
• Coordinate with approving agencies during permitting and plan processing.
