Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
• FE certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license; Civil Engineer IV candidates must possess a PE license in Michigan or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive reviews of private development construction plans, technical reports, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and engineering principles.
• Identifies and resolves design and construction issues, and independently coordinates project activities with consultants, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders throughout project planning and construction.
• Serves as a primary point of contact with the public, developers, consultants, and contractors, providing technical guidance and resolving complex project-related issues.
• Exercises independent judgment in planning, prioritizing, and completing assignments, with supervision for unusual or complex matters.
