Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to drive front end engineering for new data center sites. You will lead due diligence, site master planning, and design strategy across regions, coordinating with Real Estate, Risk and Resiliency, Power, Water, Fiber, Environmental, and Construction teams.

You will mentor teams, ensure best practices for data center delivery, and manage multiple projects, with travel up to 25% and international support included.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers or related environments.
• Strong leadership and delivery track record across multiple regions.
• Ability to work across internal and external teams and manage design with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders during the due diligence phase to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are considered.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather data and prerequisites for design start.
• Lead predesign phase, manage partners and external vendors for design-ready deliverables.
• Rollout strategy of new data center design types and site master plans.
• Provide design decisions to partner teams for strategic planning and region selection.
• Work with civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams to deploy design types on site developments.
• Manage concurrent projects across geographical regions.
• Escalate issues and communicate with diverse audiences.
