Job summary

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Region 3 seeks a Civil Engineer to lead floodplain mapping projects and manage engineering studies for the National Flood Insurance Program through Risk MAP. You will provide technical direction and ensure policy compliance.

You will collaborate with Federal, State, and local partners, review mapping work, and support grants and contracts as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative; travel may be extensive.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior Civil Engineer managing flood studies and mapping.
• Experience supporting the NFIP through Risk MAP.
• Willingness to travel (weeks to months) for emergency operations.
• Submission of transcripts with application is required.
• Foreign education evaluations may be considered for U.S. qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee technically complex floodplain mapping projects.
• Coordinate flood risk studies and mapping with regional project officers.
• Review work from mapping partners for technical adequacy and policy conformance.
• Collaborate with Federal, State, Tribes, and local governments and other stakeholders.
