Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Facilities team in Madison, WI. You will advance site civil design for building sites, handle grading, drainage, and utilities, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on complex facility projects.

You will contribute to permitting, QA/QC, and project leadership while growing toward leading projects under senior guidance. WSP offers mentoring, professional development, and a collaborative global platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Ability to work with independent judgment and adapt engineering principles.
• Experience in land development, municipal utility design, water resources, or environmental engineering.
• Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrologic analysis, grading, and site development design.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; self-management and client relationship experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform site civil design including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management for facility projects.
• Develop design solutions using AutoCAD Civil 3D and terrain modeling tools to support 3D coordination and visualization.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Support permitting and regulatory agency coordination.
• Assist with construction administration and respond to field questions as needed.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to overall project success.
• Apply WSP’s quality management processes, including QA/QC reviews.
• Demonstrate sound engineering judgment while adapting and applying engineering principles, codes, and standards.
• Grow toward leading projects with guidance, mentoring, and oversight from senior engineers.
