Job summary

Giffels Webster seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Detroit Headquarters. You will work on high-profile urban land development projects, independently handling multiple tasks and collaborating with clients, architects, developers, and real estate professionals.

You'll operate under a Project Manager/Senior PM and contribute to a team-driven environment. The role offers in-person collaboration with potential hybrid work up to two days per week remotely, and three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Requires an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Site plan layout and geometrics.
• Grading and pavement design.
• Stormwater management and green infrastructure design.
• Utility design (storm, sanitary, water).
• Prepare permit applications and cost estimates.
• Attend meetings and conduct field visits.

Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Detroit Headquarters, working on several high-profile urban land development projects that are contributing to the revitalization of the City of Detroit.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types from architects, developers, property owners and real estate professionals. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Site plan layout
• Geometrics
• Grading
• Pavement design
• Soil erosion and sediment control
• Utility (storm sanitary and water) design
• Stormwater management and green infrastructure design
• Traffic plans
• Details
• Record drawings and specifications
• Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
• Attend meetings
• Conduct field visits
• Perform construction administration tasks

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• You have a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience
• At least 5 years of professional engineering experience
• Must have experience in AutoCAD software

Preferred qualifications:

• PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain)
• Experience in Civil3D
