Job summary

WSP USA in Asheville, NC is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to provide oversight, direction, and technical leadership on site development, permitting, and construction projects within the Earth & Environment Group.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of NCDEQ/DEMLR permitting, mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure design quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across public and private sector projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a PE license.
• 7+ years of post-education experience in civil design.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design and permitting processes.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on design projects and mentor junior staff.
• Attract clients and deliver high-quality technical designs and deliverables.
• Coordinate and manage project teams on multiple projects.
• Lead design elements and ensure QA/QC across project documents.
• Mentor and teach design elements to early-career engineers.
• Stay current with civil engineering techniques and industry standards.
