This is a professional public works engineer position with primary work assignments focused to provide complex turnkey project management, including securing grants and funding, fiscal management, planning, team coordination, public involvement, design and construction management, and planning monitoring and maintenance activities. Incumbents provide lead and technical civil engineer support to other workers and departments Tribal wide. Must show the highest professional standards and promotes a positive image of the Tribe and its administration at all times. Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to defuse tense situations while maintaining a professional demeanor. Must be culturally sensitive to a diverse customer population and able to interact tactfully and positively with Tribal members, all levels of tribal staff and management. Perform other duties as assigned to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and two years of related civil engineering experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a State of Idaho Professional Civil Engineer License (PE) or an equivalency through state reciprocity.
