Job summary

The City of Oceanside is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in the Development Services Department - Engineering Division (Capital Improvement Projects). The incumbent will manage multiple capital projects, including the Ocean Pier concrete work and Beachfront Phase II improvements, and may supervise staff while focusing on project production and completion.

Responsibilities include preparing, issuing and managing RFQs/RFPs, bid requests, project study reports, and plans, specs and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Six years of civil engineering experience with two years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
• Valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee complex, high-profile projects including Pier and Lifeguard HQ.
• Prepare and manage RFQs/RFPs, bid requests, project study reports, plans, specs and cost estimates.
• Attend Council and Commission meetings and host public outreach as needed.
