Job summary

Dartmouth College is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to day-to-day operations of the Engineering Office, collaborating with project managers on capital projects and internal design work.

The role involves field investigations, design reviews, permitting, and continuous improvement of campus design guidelines, with a focus on water, sewer and stormwater systems, and the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS. Hanover, NH onsite.

Qualifications

• BS in civil engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in New Hampshire with at least 10 years’ experience.
• Extensive analytical, design and field experience in civil infrastructure including water, sewer and drainage.
• Experience in utility distribution operations & maintenance.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and infrastructure software including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficient with ArcGIS and mapping tools.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to relate well with diverse groups and build relationships.
• Commitment to service and continuous improvement of operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project stakeholders on complex engineering projects.
• Review design approaches from basis of design through construction documents.
• Provide technical assistance including field investigations, calculations, and design checks.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate project work to meet goals and budgets.
• Prepare design calculations and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Analyze hydrology and hydraulics for drainage and utility systems.
• Contribute to stormwater quality projects and permit documentation.
• Prepare reports and contract documents; review drawings and costs.
• Assist in campus underground utility mapping and GIS data management.
