Job summary

ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a Civil Engineer to support government programs at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. This on-site role focuses on evaluating electrical systems, reviewing MILCON/UMMC plans, and coordinating with electrical, structural and mechanical engineers.

Requirements include a ABET-certified civil engineering degree, 5+ years of civil engineering experience, ability to interpret drawings, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering programs.
  • Ability to interpret construction/engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate electrical systems, products and components for civil projects.
  • Oversee A&E designs and monitor progress/quality.
  • Review AF Requirements & Optimization playbooks; develop maintenance requirements.
  • Inspect completed work and capture Real Property data.
  • Coordinate with electrical, structural and mechanical engineers during design.
  • Provide scope definition, studies, budgeting and write-ups for proposals.

ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a Civil Engineer support or government customer programs at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. This position is required to be on-site.

  • Perform specific duties and responsibilities related to Civil engineering including evaluating electrical systems, products, and components and applications.
    Oversees A&E designs.
  • Monitors A&E’s progress and work quality.
  • Review AF Requirements & Optimization (R&O) playbook for project initiations and
    development of maintenance requirements.
  • Perform inspections on completed project work along with equipment installations capturing Real Property data.
  • Ability to interpret construction/engineering contract drawings and specifications to ensure all construction meets initial design and specifications.
  • Provides the scope definition, specification, studies, budgeting and write-up into project proposals of civil engineering projects and prepares initial government cost estimates for small projects.
  • Performs physical activities including climbing in and around equipment, crawling and working outdoors.
    Consult and coordinate with electrical, structural and mechanical engineers during the design phase to ensure a proper mechanical layout.
    Supports/works with project design teams consisting of architects, engineers and customer’s technical staff.
    Provides technical support to programmers and cost estimators.
    Conducts technical review of Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), facility projects and architect-engineer designers’ plans and specifications.
    Performs root cause analysis on systems failing prematurely or systemically.
    Reviews AF Form 332 work request submissions for validity of scope and practicality of work in house.
    Performs other related duties as assigned .
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering programs.
  • Be able to identify common site architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/detection system components, and understand how they function/operate.
  • Have experience planning or performing facility maintenance, improvements, or repairs.
  • ***Must be a U.S. Citizen***
Preferred Qualifications:
EIT/PE

Air Force or DOD experience.
