Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to provide expert civil and structural engineering support for compressor station facilities across expansion and maintenance capital projects. You will guide third‑party engineering firms and ensure designs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Enbridge specifications.

You will collaborate with internal partners across Project Execution, Transmission, and Shared Services to integrate deliverables into final outputs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • Knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards for the oil and gas industry in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compressor station facilities are designed per regulations, codes, and corporate standards.
  • Provide interpretations and ensure compliance with Enbridge standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project team to provide engineering expertise for design challenges.
  • Manage design deliverables by a third‑party firm against budget and schedule.
  • Review and approve design deliverables such as drawings, reports, and material lists.
  • Review vendor material quotations, prepare evaluations, and select options based on merit and price.
  • Incorporate lessons learned from past projects into future designs.

We are seeking a skilled Sr Civil Engineer to provide expert civil and structural engineering support for compressor station facilities across both expansion and maintenance capital projects. In this role, you will guide third‑party engineering firms, ensuring all project designs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Enbridge's engineering specifications. You will also collaborate closely with internal partners across Project Execution, Transmission, and Shared Services to ensure project goals are met and seamlessly integrated into final deliverables. What You Will Do
  • Ensures that all compressor station facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate standards
  • Provide interpretations and ensure compliance to Enbridge standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with project team to provide engineering expertise and solutions for design related challenges
  • Manages the execution of the design deliverables by a third‑party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule
  • Reviews and approves design deliverables for example drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets
  • Reviews vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery.
  • Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs
  • Support department initiatives as required
Who You Are
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards for the oil and gas industry in the US
Preferred
  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly
  • Problem solves issues through use of standards, modification of standards and/or previous experience
  • Effectively communicates technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff
  • PE Designation
Working Conditions

80% of work is office-based working with multiple project teams 20% of time is in the field scoping projects or supporting construction and commissioning activities Time sensitive deliverables Work requires strong computer skills typically using Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement

Salary

Ranges from $96,200 - $130,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
