Job description

Gedeon GRC is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. This person is responsible and accountable for the supervision and the coordination of project teams to create detailed designs of civil projects.

SALARY RANGE: $125,000-$165,000 annually, Pay commensurate with experience

LOCATION: Options of Remote, Hybrid (local to the NYC Metro Area) or in office at our Syosset NY, Princeton, NJ or Newark, NJ locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Communication deadline dates set by clients and formulate teams to ensure deadlines are met.
  2. Develop detailed designs for urban and rural roadway/highway by analyzing material tests such as the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel, vertical and horizontal alignment, drainage, sewer, storm water management, pavement markings, signage, signals and MPT.
  3. Maintain budgets for projects and ensure the projects stay within budget guidelines.
  4. Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
  5. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other governmental regulations.
  6. Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for all projects.
  7. Review studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and plan for potential project impact.
  8. Provide technical expertise to clients and personnel regarding design or repairs.
  9. Participate in client meetings such as proposal, progress and completion meetings when necessary.
  10. All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering and a minimum of eight to twelve years related experience in general civil engineering with an emphasis on highway/roadway design, as well as storm water management/watershed analysis.
  2. Experience with New York (city and state) agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and NYCDDC.
  3. NY or NJ Professional Engineer (P.E)
  4. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and the coordination of people and resources.
  5. Expertise of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
  6. Strong understanding of government regulations, OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
  7. Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications in Civil Engineering requiring proficiency with AutoCAD with Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, etc.
  8. Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple requests in a growing company environment.
  9. Highly analytical with the ability to calculate complex mathematical equations. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  10. Thorough understanding of civil and traffic engineering with significant experience with roadway engineering, drainage and utility design, MPT and project management.
