Responsibilities

• Lead land development projects through all phases of design and delivery.
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, and hydrology/hydraulic designs and calculations.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for project design and production.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with internal AEC teams and outside consultants.
• Support business development and client relationship growth efforts.

Senior Civil Engineer

Direct Hire | San Diego, CA (Hybrid: Mon-Wed in Office, Thu-Fri Flexible) | $100,000-$140,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus

A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing San Diego team. This role will lead land development projects from planning and design through construction support while serving as a technical leader, client partner, and mentor to junior staff.

The San Diego office supports a variety of healthcare, mixed-use, and land development projects and offers a collaborative culture with strong leadership visibility, flexible scheduling, employee-focused benefits, and long-term career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead land development projects through all phases of design and delivery
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, and hydrology/hydraulic designs and calculations
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for project design and production
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers
• Coordinate with internal AEC teams and outside consultants
• Support business development and client relationship growth efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• California PE license (or ability to obtain)
• 8+ years of civil engineering and land development experience
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience managing projects, budgets, and client relationships
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading projects and mentoring team members
• Experience within the AEC industry preferred
• Healthcare and/or mixed-use project experience is a plus
