The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to provide engineering design services for complex projects in highway, site, drainage, utilities, and rail domains. The role includes leading design teams, preparing reports and drawings in AutoCAD, and ensuring compliance with standards such as AASHTO and FAA guidelines.
Candidates should have a NY or NJ PE license, 8+ years in civil infrastructure design, and strong leadership and communication skills.

The Port Authority’s airports, ports, ferries, tunnels, bridges, bus terminals and rail transportation systems are important transportation links in the region. The Civil & Environmental Engineering unit within the Engineering/Architecture Design Division, located at 4 World Trade Center, serves a unique role within the Port Authority by providing engineering planning and design services throughout the Agency with close coordination with external stakeholders, including Federal, State, and local transportation and regulatory agencies.
The Senior Civil Engineer (NRY 3) will be responsible for providing Engineering design services for complex projects. Technical areas include one or more of the following civil subsets: highway/roadway design, site design, hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, utilities, airside design, passenger rail or freight rail design. The Senior Civil Engineer will prepare reports, design documents, and drawings in AutoCAD. The Senior Civil Engineer will serve as technical lead on assigned projects.
The successful candidate will apply working knowledge of AASHTO, NJDEP/NYDEC stormwater, AREMA, FAA and/or similar standards or guidelines.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey anticipates that the actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on aspects such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities,and internal factors. The expected compensation range for this role is:
Minimum: $100,256 Midpoint: $130,318 Maximum: $160,394
In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits employees to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In-person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business, and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required based on business needs.
