Kimley-Horn is seeking a Civil Design Technician in the Coachella Valley, CA office with 6+ years of experience to join the Land Development team. The role focuses on drafting standards, technical drawings, and quality control while mentoring CAD staff.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred).
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Willingness to mentor and teach others.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards.
• Develop technical drawings and plans.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform multifaceted calculations.
• Require minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks.
• Possess knowledge of engineering principles and suggest design changes.
• Maintain drawing database.
• Supervise and train CAD staff.
• Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.
