Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Senior Civil Designer for our Haddon Heights, NJ office, full-time, direct hire. The role supports Site/Civil and municipal engineering through essential design and drafting tasks.

The candidate will mentor team members, coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies, and may work in the field as needed, while delivering complete site/civil plans and related details.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Civil Design or Civil Drafting experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD Drafting with AutoDesk Civil 3D using survey field data.
• Prepare site/civil plans including demolition, layout, grading, utilities, SWM/E&S, and road profiles.
• Provide cut/fill volume computations.
• Ensure scheduling and productivity objectives are met; mentor staff.

Job description

Pennoni is hiring! In particular, we are looking for a Senior Civil Designer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Haddon Heights, NJ. This person will be expected to contribute to our Site/Civil and municipal engineering projects by performing critical design & drafting functions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform CAD Drafting with AutoDesk Civil 3D while utilizing survey field data.
• Perform zoning reviews and concept plans for site feasibility and optimization based on client needs.
• Prepare complete Site/Civil plans sets including demolition, site layout, grading, utility, and SWM / E&S plans, road and utility profiles and typical sections.
• Prepare various forms of site/civil details & exhibits.
• Provide cut/fill volume computations.
• Ensure scheduling and productivity objectives are achieved.
• Provide mentorship to other staff members.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

This person may be expected to work in the field, as-needed, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License.

Basic Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of professional experience working in Civil Design and/or Civil Drafting.
• Proficiency with current ACAD Civil 3D software

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Design Technology, or a related technical field of study is a plus!
• Exposure to municipal engineering / infrastructure improvement projects.
• Experience coordinating directly with clientèle and regulatory agencies.
• Stormwater conveyance system and basin design is a plus.
• General understanding of land use regulations including municipal ordinances, water and sewer departments, County engineering departments, NJDEP, NJDOT and Pinelands Commission.
• Proficiency on standard Microsoft Office software applications.
• Proven ability to utilize technical mathematics.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); proven active-listening skills is a plus!

Target Salary Range: $43 - $60 (per hour)
