Job description

We are seeking a Senior Civil Designer to support the development of construction drawing packages for utility infrastructure projects. This individual will take a lead role in Civil 3D design and drafting, perform drawing reviews and QA/QC, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design staff.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed Civil 3D drawings and construction document packages for utility infrastructure projects.


• Support the design and drafting of pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related civil infrastructure.


• Prepare civil site plans, utility layouts, alignments, profiles, grading plans, and plan/profile drawings.


• Develop and maintain Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, and other project design elements.


• Incorporate engineering markups and redlines while maintaining accurate revision and document control.


• Perform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure drawings meet project requirements and established CADD standards.


• Support preparation of permitting drawings and other project design deliverables.


• Serve as a senior CADD resource for project teams and collaborate with engineers and designers across multiple disciplines.


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior CADD/design staff.


• Assist with the development and improvement of CADD standards, templates, workflows, and procedures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Civil 3D design experience, preferably supporting utility or civil infrastructure projects.


• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.


• Demonstrated experience developing complete construction drawing packages from design through final deliverables.


• Strong understanding of civil design practices, applicable codes, standards, and specifications.


• Experience supporting utility infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, or similar projects.


• Previous experience serving as a lead or senior CADD resource within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.


• Ability to perform drawing reviews and QA/QC and maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency.


• Ability to mentor junior designers and communicate effectively with engineering teams and clients.


• Land development experience is a plus.


• Autodesk certification is preferred but not required.
