Job summary

SpringPoint Technologies in Tulsa is seeking an experienced Civil Designer to join our civil engineering team. You will contribute to site development projects, perform grading and drainage design, and produce construction documents with Civil 3D.

Collaborating with engineers, architects, and clients, you will help improve workflows and templates, ensure compliance with codes, mentor junior designers, and support QA/QC throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of civil design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and complex site designs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create grading and drainage designs and utility layouts.
• Collaborate with civil engineers to incorporate survey and geotechnical data into designs.
• Develop designs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
• Support project planning, specifications, and budgets with design input.
• Provide construction-phase support, including RFIs and shop drawing reviews.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to QA/QC reviews.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Designer to join a growing Civil Engineering team focused on delivering a diverse portfolio of challenging site development projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute both technically and strategically by supporting high-quality project delivery while helping improve design standards, workflows, quality control processes, and production templates. Projects range from local to national in scope and span multiple sectors, including federal, municipal, commercial, retail, healthcare, and industrial developments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve as a civil design lead on large, multi-disciplinary projects or oversee multiple smaller projects while mentoring junior designers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create and modify:
• Grading and drainage designs
• Utility layouts
• Collaborate with civil engineers to perform site analysis and incorporate survey, geotechnical, and other project data into design solutions.
• Develop designs that comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and codes.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other disciplines to support project planning, specifications, and budgets.
• Coordinate with clients to understand project goals, present design alternatives, and address project-related concerns.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, calculations, reports, and design records.
• Provide construction-phase support by responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and assisting with design clarifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to design standards, workflows, QA/QC procedures, and Civil 3D production templates.
• Stay informed on industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in civil site design.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design, with a strong emphasis on site development projects.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and the ability to produce complex site designs and construction documents.

Strong understanding of:

• Grading and drainage design
• Utility design
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of local building codes, zoning requirements, permitting processes, and regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, MUTCD requirements, and ADA accessibility guidelines.
• Experience working on public sector, municipal, or federal projects.
• Experience mentoring junior designers or technical staff.
