Job summary

Kaw Valley Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Civil Design Engineer/Project Manager to join our Salina, Kansas team. The role entails leading multiple projects, coordinating with clients and agencies, and delivering site development and public improvement plans with QA/QC oversight.

Based in Salina with some travel, this position emphasizes collaboration with architects and engineers, mentorship of junior staff, and maintaining strong client relationships in a dynamic civil engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree required.
• Kansas P.E. license or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Experience in consulting is preferred.
• Site development, residential/commercial, and transportation experience a plus.
• Municipal engineering policy experience is a plus.
• Experience managing and navigating project completion.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple civil engineering projects with production staff, clients, and review agencies.
• Develop and QA/QC site development and public improvement plans.
• Coordinate daily workflow on projects including studies, reports, calculations and design tasks.
• Involve Civil Design, Utility Coordination, Permit Acquisition, and Client Invoicing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external architects/engineers to meet client needs.
• Mentor and guide less experienced staff while maintaining client satisfaction.

Role Highlights:

• Play an integral role in maintaining client satisfaction and developing our client base
• Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from an accredited program
• Kansas P.E. license (ability to obtain license within 60 days)
Consulting experience is preferred.
• Expertise in residential and commercial site development, and transportation is a strong plus.
• Experience in municipal engineering policy and procedures is a plus.
• Experience managing and navigating the completion of projects
