Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Senior Civil Design Engineer for a hybrid role in Welkom, South Africa. You will develop detailed infrastructure designs, specifications, and drawings, ensuring cost-effective and compliant solutions while coordinating with project teams.

You will apply AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills, perform calculations, and support environmental assessments and permitting processes throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) designation required.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience focused on civil engineering design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design and modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of South African design standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including site grading, drainage systems, road layouts, and utility installations.
• Prepare technical specifications, bill of quantities, and construction drawings using industry-standard software.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis for structural integrity, hydraulic capacity, and traffic flow.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure design alignment with project objectives and constraints.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs from contractors during construction.

This role is central to developing detailed engineering designs for a variety of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are technically sound, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible. You will work closely with project managers and construction teams to translate conceptual designs into constructible plans. Key Responsibilities
