Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Inspector to join our on-site team in Bellevue, WA. You will conduct observations of pipeline and concrete structures construction, document findings, and mentor junior field staff while coordinating with project managers.

Read and interpret drawings, manage field sampling and testing, and ensure compliance with specifications. This role supports a signature wastewater pipeline project and requires independent work within HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in construction inspection.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of pipeline construction, concrete structures construction and mechanical mechanism construction.
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
• Conduct or coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing for pipelines and roadways.
• Receive general supervision from the Resident Engineer who reviews work while in progress.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
