Job summary

HDR in Bellevue, WA seeks a Senior Civil Construction Inspector to lead pipeline construction observations and document correctness across concrete structures and mechanical systems. The role involves mentoring junior staff and coordinating with Project Managers, with supervision from a Resident Engineer.

The position requires at least 5 years of relevant inspection experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of pipeline construction, concrete structures construction and mechanical mechanism construction
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
• Conduct or coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing for pipelines and roadways.
• Receive general supervision from the Resident Engineer who reviews work while in progress
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school or Associate degree
• Relevant Industry Certifications
• CCM certification is favorable

Required Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
• A minimum of 5 years experience
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
