Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Inspector to lead field inspections on civil infrastructure projects in the Missouri/Kansas City area. You will document progress, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil construction inspection, proficient MS Office skills, and the ability to work independently within HDR's employee-owned culture. Occasional travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; may substitute 8 years of inspection experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' construction inspection experience.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Active participant in HDR employee-owned culture and safety policy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress.
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and identify discrepancies.
• Collaborate with project managers and other field staff.
• Travel to remote sites and work overtime as required.
